Online Support for Quitting Drinking

Quitting anything you enjoy or have enjoyed in the past is hard.  It is important to find support when you embark on the journey of sobriety.   Not everyone wants to go to meetings or into rehab, but talking to others who have the same goal can really improve your chances of quitting.

Two of the best forums  I have found is located at wqd.netwarriors.org and soberrecovery.com.  Go sign up they are friendly and accommodating, if you have other suggestions leave them in the comments.

Alcohol - How to Give it up and be glad you did

Alcohol: How to Give It Up and Be Glad You Did

Alcohol is written to help us stop drinking by recognizing and modifying irrational thoughts about drinking.  All of us problem drinkers have irrational thoughts, telling us life would be so boring without alcohol, it is impossible to live without alcohol, I can't stop drinking.

These and other irrational thoughts keep us going back to the bottle even after we have made the big plan on quitting forever.  Alcohol by Philip Tate walks us through gaining a realistic view of drinking.  Disputing the irrational thoughts and dealing with low frustration tolerance.

Alcohol by Philip Tate is a great read if you are thinking about quitting alcohol for good.
